We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Boat Captain with relevant experience and qualifications to operate as a Captain for vessels below 500 GRT, specifically in the capacity of a small vessel crew boat. The successful candidate must possess a valid certificate, safety training, and a verified Certificate of Competency (COC) for UAE endorsement. Additionally, proficiency in English communication is essential for this role.
Location: Fujairah, UAE
Responsibilities:
Operate and navigate the crew boat safely and efficiently within Fujairah Ports anchorage services area.
Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations, safety procedures, and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on the vessel and its equipment to ensure seaworthiness.
Manage and supervise the crew members on board, ensuring their adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
Coordinate with port authorities, clients, and other vessels as necessary to facilitate smooth operations.
Maintain accurate records of voyages, cargo, crew, and any incidents or emergencies that may occur.
Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies, including medical emergencies or distress signals.
Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service while interacting with clients and stakeholders.
Salary:
AED 5,000 to 8,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) with UAE endorsement for vessels below 500 GRT.
Completion of relevant safety training courses, including but not limited to, STCW certification.
Proven experience as a Captain or Officer on crew boats or similar small vessels.
Proficiency in English communication, both verbal and written.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
Excellent navigational and seamanship abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Sound knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures.
Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Flexibility to work long hours and on weekends or holidays as required by operational needs.
